About the Book
The authors, who were professors at the same university were working to inspire students to success.
Although their teaching expertise was in very different areas, they both read and studied authors,
attended workshops and conferences, developing extensive knowledge in diverse fields related to
developing a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically. They analyzed and compared notes on
their work with students in an effort to, motivate students to access right brain thinking and be free of
negativity and pessimism. They discussed successes and challenges of helping students become the
beings of happiness, light, and imagination they carried within themselves. The underlying idea, as a
universal reality, is that our lives are a result of the thought processes that lead us to create our reality.
Our joy and wellness depend on those thoughts. They were each considering publishing their unique
perspectives to share their knowledge with others. They eventually decided to collaborate and write this
book.
Proven effective through years of classroom practice, this book is full of concepts and precepts
presented to give hands-on techniques and tools to effectively create your own path to joy and
happiness, crafting a life-changing guide for accessing the personal creativity welling inside each and
every one of us. The deeper Singhal and Burnett’s discoveries, the more they understood that problem
solving and decision making enhanced through the creative thought process were the keys to success. As
they applied more concepts with greater results, the more they saw that a happy state of mind is not only
a need for scholarly excellence and creativity but also a universal need for our well-being and progress
as human beings.
To better illustrate this point, authors note how we truly enjoy something when we are completely
and entirely engrossed in it; when we do what we love, we experience multiple senses of deep inner
peace, bliss and contentment. Covering such topics as thinking, self-esteem, relationships, stress,
fitness, nutrition, breathing, and belief, they endeavor to teach us all to understand the meaning of joy
and happiness, to feel relaxed and at peace in our world. And much like best-selling cookbooks, this
happiness “how-to” allows readers to utilize a collection of examples, quizzes, and suggestions that
prompt the individual to learn the fundamentals of mental and physical wellness and create the most
effective recipe for their own use. Yielding harmony and success to willing readers, Joy in Health and
Happiness will also bring you ultimate joy and happiness as it forever changes your life.
